10 tips to set healthy boundaries in your Relationship

1. Have a conversation about boundaries with your partner.

 

It’s important to have a conversation about boundaries with your partner – before things get too heated. Discuss what each of you is comfortable with, and be sure to listen to each other. This will help avoid any misunderstandings down the road.

 

 

2. Set boundaries for yourself.

 

This is especially important if you have a history of being a people-pleaser or of putting others’ needs before your own. You need to be clear about what you are and are not comfortable with, and stick to them.

 

 

3. Speak up when something feels off.

 

If something feels wrong, speak up! It can be tough to do, but it’s crucial that you communicate with your partner if you’re not comfortable with something. This will help avoid any hurt feelings or resentment down the road.

 

 

4. Take time for yourself.
